Mr. Mark K Torokwa (MIED: Managing Consultant

Mark is a professional and highly effective business development operator. He is skilled in delivering cost-effective solutions to meet strategic business objectives. He has extensive experience in the areas of project management, lean management, recovery strategies, social enterprise, economic/business development, research and analysis, waste management and renewable energy research and analysis, mergers and acquisitions and the voluntary sector. Mark has also a demonstrable record of working in the private and public sectors in both Europe and the developing world where he has managed a number of development projects. He has worked as a commercial and non-for-profit and regeneration consultant, providing innovative solutions to challenging development problems. Mark has extensive knowledge of emerging markets backed up by a well-connected team of highly skilled local and international multi-sector consultant.

Mr. Danny Kunda: Senior Consultant
He is a chartered accountant. He is a man of tangibility and excellence who believes in merging service with passion. He has an outstanding business acumen. He has worked both in the public and private sectors and has managed various projects as business advisor ,accountant and material controller. He is a re-known public speaker and a founder of stewardship accounting and consultancy services (a part of one-call -Africa consultancy) that specialises in  providing accounting consultancy services to charitable organisations  and small business start ups including business plans, running payrolls, tax returns, auditing, outsourcing among other financial services. 


Associate Consultants


Dr Keith Baker: Associate Consultant

Keith is a Research Associate based at Glasgow Caledonian University and Director of a carbon and sustainability management consultancy. He has extensive experience in energy and carbon management in the built environment, and the management and impact of electronic waste - on which he writes a monthly column for the electronics industry publication The Display Standard. He is also Chair of an NGO that specialises in supporting projects that link communities in the developed and developing worlds. His consultancy experience ranges from supporting community projects to carbon management work for multinational companies, specialising in policy analysis and implementation for sustainable development


Mr. Ian Thomas: Associate Consultant


Ian Thomas is a Sales  and Marketing business advisor and consultant specialising in Domestic and Operational markets from Hampshire in England (UK), and established in 1998. Ian and his company ‘Proactive Trading Hampshire Ltd’ have helped numerous small and medium sized companies, Universities and Governmental agencies meet their objectives. Client served have been from diverse markets including Asia, Africa, Europe and North America. Key to Ian’s activity is to create profitable business to business by utilising first class research techniques and sound sales acumen. Experienced in direct sales and distributor management techniques, Ian has demonstrated his ability to grow both sales and profit margins. Experience has been gained in sectors such as biotech, nuclear, pharmaceutical, water treatment, manufacturing, beverages, semiconductors, petrochem, chemicals, aerospace and many more. Ian is backed up by a comprehensive team (over 5000 world-wide) providing alternative and complementary skills that can be applied to any business challenges.


Mr. Stephen Brown: Associate Consultant

Stephen worked for Dimplex UK Ltd (the World’s largest electric heating manufacturing company) in a variety of marketing and sales management roles, latterly managing a budget in excess of £7m. He then joined EWT a German manufacturer of heating products as National Business Development Manager, working to achieve their inclusion in B & Q’s recommended supplier listings.


In 2000 he joined the then Southampton Insitute as a Marketing Assistant moving on to work for the Centre for Development & Research (CEDAR) and the Community Enterprise Office (CEO) in a variety of project management and business development capacities. He then managed the Solent Productions Enterprise Centre within the Faculty of Media Arts and Society (FMAS). Stephen has translated his work experience into a number of part-time lecturing activities in Accounting (as a qualified Associate of Accounting Technicians), Marketing (for Charted Institute of Marketing), Management (MBA) and practical enterprise training for organisations such as Business Link, National Association of Graduate Entrepreneurship (NCGE) and City Life Education and Action for Refugees (CLEAR).


Stephen’s current role as Enterprise Manager within the Accelerating Enterprise (ACE) team is to help accelerate the enterprise culture at Southampton Solent University via aiding students with mentoring, training and financial support (SPEED Programme), extra-curricular enterprise activities and the embedding of enterprise learning into the University’s curriculum.


Stephen admits to being completely fascinated in what makes and drives people to establish businesses. He believes that while passion, determination and energy ultimately determine success, effective and tailored training can significantly reduce the chances of failure and radically increase the speed at which a company gets to market. He is passionate that enterprise opportunities should be rendered available to everyone, especially those from disadvantaged communities or backgrounds, and not just those who are ‘destined’ for success.
